For years now my personal preference
has been to not wear make-up. For me, I saw it as
a mask hiding who Yahuah created me to be. At one
time I even considered it a lie, because it was
not what I really looked like. I was enhancing my
appearance. In the past I did wear make-up, but
only to ‘special’ occasions or for work. Recently,
I made a statement to someone in which I said,
paraphrasing, that I didn’t think Scripture said
one way or the other about make-up. Yahuah, in His
infinite wisdom and compassion, immediately set me
straight and blessed me with His Word on the
subject of make-up. For my quickly spoken words I
ask His forgiveness and hereby set the matter
straight.
Following is the study He gave me and I would
like to share it with you.
2 Melakim 9:30-37And Yehu came to
Yizre'el, and Izebel heard of it. And she put
paint (6320) on her eyes
and adorned her head, and looked through a window.
31 And as Yehu came to the gate, she said, “Is it
peace, Zimri, slayer of your master?” 32 And he
lifted up his face to the window and said, “Who is
with me? Who?” And two, three eunuchs looked down to
him. 33 And he said, “Throw her down.” And they
threw her down, and some of her blood spattered on
the wall and on the horses, and he trampled her
under foot. 34 And he went in, and he ate and drank,
and said, “Go now, see to this cursed one, and bury
her, for she was a sovereign’s daughter.” 35 So they
went to bury her, but all they found of her was the
skull and the feet and the palms of the hands. 36
And they came back and informed him. And he said,
“This is the word of YAHUAH, which He spoke by His
servant Eliyahu the Tishbite, saying, ‘In the
portion of Yizre'el dogs are going to eat the flesh
of Izebel, 37 and the corpse of Izebel shall be as
dung on the surface of the field, in the portion of
Yizre'el, so that they do not say, “This is Izebel.”
Hmmm, I wonder if Izebel put on
make-up for a special occasion?
YirmeYahu 4:30-31 26 I looked, and saw
the garden land was a wilderness, and all its
cities were broken down at the presence of YAHUAH,
by His burning displeasure. 27 For thus said
YAHUAH, “All the earth shall be a ruin, but I
shall not make a complete end. 28 “On account of
this, let the earth mourn and the heavens above be
dark, because I have spoken, because I have
purposed and shall not relent, nor do I turn back
from it.” 29 All the city is fleeing from the
noise of the horsemen and bowmen. They shall go
into bushes and climb up on the rocks. All the
city is forsaken, and no one is dwelling in it. 30
And when you are ravaged, what would you do?
Though you put on crimson, though you adorn
yourself with ornaments of gold, though you
enlarge your eyes with paint (6320),
you adorn yourself in vain. Your lovers despise
you, they seek your life. 31 For I have heard a
voice as of a woman in labour, the distress as of
her who brings forth her first child, the voice of
the daughter of Tsiyon! She bewails herself, she
spreads out her hands, saying, “Woe to me, for my
being faints because of murderers!” Hmmmm, I wonder if they put on
make-up to enhance their appearance?

- antimony, stibium, black paint
According to Wikipedia:
Antimony was recognized in antiquity (3000 BC or
earlier) in various compounds, and it was prized
for its fine casting qualities.
A black antimony-based powder soluble in water
known as stibium was the ancient version of
mascara during roman times. It was used to
darken the brows and lashes, or to draw a line
around the perimeter of the eye.
Antimony and many of its compounds are toxic.
Clinically, antimony poisoning is very similar to
arsenic poisoning. In small doses, antimony causes
headache, dizziness, and depression.
The relationship between
antimony's modern name and its symbol is complex;
the Coptic name for the cosmetic powder antimony
sulfide was borrowed by the Greeks, which was in
turn borrowed by Latin, resulting in stibium. The
chemical pioneer Jöns Jakob Berzelius used an
abbreviation of this name for antimony in his
writings, and his usage became the standard
symbol.
Strangely enough, it
appears that no one knows for sure why this
symbol was used to identify antimony. It does;
however, look very familiar. If one were to
invert it, you would see the symbol used to
identify woman. And where, I wonder did that
symbol come from. Let's find out, shall we?
Again, according to
Wikipedia:
The symbol for the planet Venus is
the sign also used in biology for the female
gender once a male gender exists in the animal
species being described (males do not exist in
early animal forms, where all reproduction is
female generation of more females, exclusively): a
stylized representation of the goddess Venus's
hand mirror or an abstract symbol for the goddess:
a circle with a small equilateral cross
underneath. The Venus symbol also represented
femininity, and in ancient alchemy stood for
copper. Alchemists constructed the symbol from a
circle (representing spirit) above an equilateral
cross (representing matter).
The symbol for woman (set
up by humans, not Yahuah) is actually the symbol
for a 'goddess'. This symbol for a goddess
turned 90º is the symbol for antimony,
which was make-up for the ancients. So what is
driving us to put on make-up? A spirit of
Jezebel or a spirit of Venus? How does the
commercial from Gillette for their womens'
razors go?: "Reveal the goddess in you" and the
lyrics from their jingle: "She's got it Yeah,
baby, she's got it I'm your Venus, I'm your fire
At your desire." hasatan has always mixed truth
in with lies to beguile the women into sin. He
did it from the beginning. If we do not remain
under the authority of our headship, (husband or
Yahusha), we will fall for hasatans tricks.
Whether we like it or not, we are the weaker
vessel. If that statement bothers you, perhaps
you should test the spirits and see where that
is coming from. I'm telling you the truth:
1 Kepha 3:7
In the same way, husbands, live understandingly
together, giving respect to the wife,
as to the weaker vessel, and as being
heirs together of the favour of life, so that your
prayers are not hindered.
Bereshith 3:13 And YAHUAH Elohim said to
the woman,“What is this you have done?” And the
woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.”
Let us not be deceived!
This woman was not stupid nor was she ignorant.
She walked WITH Elohim along side her husband!
She was not a neandrathal being drug around by
her hair. But yet, she was deceived. Had she
harkened to the voice of her husband she would
not have been beguiled. Ladies think about it --
Do you wear make-up because it's what you think
your husbands want? Do you wear make-up because
you think that it makes you look
prettier? What does the Word say to us?
MattithYahu 23:25-28 Woe to you, scribes
and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you clean the
outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are
filled with plunder and unrighteousness. 26 “Blind
Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and
dish, so that the outside of them becomes clean
too. 27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! Because you are like whitewashed tombs
which outwardly indeed look well, but inside are
filled with dead men’s bones and all uncleanness.
28 “So you too outwardly indeed appear righteous
to men, but inside you are filled with hypocrisy
and lawlessness.
Luke 11:39-41 39 And the Master said to
him, “Now you Pharisees make the outside of the
cup and dish clean, but your inward part is filled
with greed and wickedness. 40 “Mindless ones! Did
not He who made the outside make the inside also?
41 “But give in kindness of that which is within,
and see, all are clean to you.
How are women any different
than the Pharisees that make the outside of the
body beautiful by make-up and dress and yet
leave the inside in ruin by the sins of pride,
vanity, and whorings! And lest you think I come
with an accusation allow me to tell you the
truth, for the Word equates make-up with that
very spirit:
Yehezqel 23:36-44 36 And YAHUAH said to
me, “Son of man, judge Oholah and Oholibah! And
declare to them their abominations. 37 “For they
have committed adultery, and blood is on their
hands. And they have committed adultery with their
idols, and even offered their sons whom they bore
to Me, passing them through the fire, to devour.
38 “They also did this to Me: They have defiled My
set-apart place on the same day, and they have
profaned My Sabbaths. 39 “For when they had slain
their children for their idols, on the same day
they came into My set-apart place to profane it.
And see, that is what they did in the midst of My
House. 40 “And they even sent for men to come
from afar, to whom a messenger was sent. And
see, they came – for whom you washed yourself, painted
your eyes, and adorned yourself with
ornaments. 41 “And you sat on a splendid
couch, with a table prepared before it, on which
you had set My incense and My oil. 42 “And the
sound of a crowd at ease was with her, and
drunkards were brought from the wilderness with
men of the commonest sort. And they put bracelets
on their wrists and pretty crowns on their heads.
43 “Then I said concerning the one worn out in
adulteries, ‘Now let them commit her whorings,
even hers!’ 44“And they went in to her, as
men go in to a woman who is a whore. Thus they
went in to Oholah and Oholibah, the wicked women."
Our loving, compassionate,
kind, and wonderful Heavenly Father had His
servants, Sha'ul and Kepha, tell us what kind of
women to be:
1 Timothy 4:9-10 9 Likewise, that the
women dress themselves becomingly, with decency
and sensibleness, not with braided hair or gold or
pearls or costly garments, 10 but with tov works,
which is becoming for women undertaking worship of
Elohim.
1 Kepha 3:3-5 3 Your adornment should
not be outward – arranging the hair, wearing gold,
or putting on dresses – 4 but the hidden Man of
the heart, with the incorruptible ornament of a
meek and peaceable spirit, which is of great value
before Elohim. 5 For in this way, in former times,
the setapart women who trusted in Elohim also
adorned themselves, being subject to their own
husbands,
