What do you do for the appointed meeting?

Here are some Scriptures for contemplation -

Exo 10:20-23
20 However, Yahuah hardened the heart of Pharaoh, and he did not let the children of Yisra’el go.
21 And Yahuah said to Mosheh, “Stretch out your hand toward the heavens, and let there be darkness over the land of Mitsrayim, even a darkness which is felt.”
22 And Mosheh stretched out his hand toward the heavens, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Mitsrayim for three days.
23 They did not see one another, nor did anyone rise from his place for three days, while all the children of Yisra’ĕl had light in their dwellings.

Mat 27:45-46
45 And from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land, until the ninth hour.
46 And about the ninth hour Yahusha cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Ěli, Ěli, lemah sheḇaqtani?” that is, “My Ěl, My Ěl, why have You forsaken Me?”

So could we say that the three days of darkness in Mitsrayim was in a likeness of the three hours of darkness at the impalement; an hour for a day principle?

Isa 13:9-11
9 See, the day of Yahuah is coming, fierce, with wrath and heat of displeasure, to lay the earth waste, and destroy its sinners from it.
10 For the stars of the heavens and their constellations do not give off their light. The sun shall be dark at its rising, and the moon not send out its light.
11 “And I shall punish the world for its evil, and the wrong for their crookedness, and shall put an end to the arrogance of the proud, and lay low the pride of the ruthless.

Eze 32:3-10
3 “Thus said the Master Yahuah, ‘And I shall spread My net over you with an assembly of many peoples, and they shall bring you up in My net.
4 ‘And I shall leave you on the land, hurl you out on the open fields, and make all the birds of the heavens dwell on you. And with you I shall satisfy the beasts of all the earth.
5 ‘And I shall put your flesh on the mountains, and fill the valleys with your height,
6 and water the land with the flow of your blood unto the mountains, and let streams be filled with you.
7 ‘And when I extinguish you, I shall cover the heavens, and make its stars dark. I shall cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.
8 ‘All the bright lights of the heavens I shall make dark over you, and I shall bring darkness upon your land,’ declares the Master Yahuah.
9 ‘And I shall trouble the hearts of many peoples, when I bring your destruction among the nations, into the lands which you have not known.
10 ‘And I shall make many peoples appalled at you, and their sovereigns shall be greatly afraid of you when I swing My sword before them. And they shall tremble continually, every man for his own life, in the day of your fall.’

Joe 2:1-11
1 Blow a ram’s horn in Tsiyon, and sound an alarm in My set-apart mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the earth tremble, for the day of Yahuah is coming, for it is near:
2 a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness, like the morning clouds spread over the mountains – a people many and strong, the like of whom has never been, nor shall there ever be again after them, to the years of many generations.
3 Ahead of them a fire has consumed, and behind them a flame burns. Before them the land is like the Garden of Ěḏen, and behind them a desert waste. And from them there is no escape.
4 Their appearance is like the appearance of horses, and they run like steeds.
5 As the noise of chariots they leap over mountaintops, as the noise of a flaming fire consuming stubble, as a mighty people set in battle array.
6 Before them peoples are in anguish, all faces become flushed.
7 They run like mighty men, they climb the wall like men of battle, everyone goes on his way, and they do not break ranks.
8 And they do not press one another, everyone goes in his path. They fall among the weapons, but they do not stop.
9 They rush on the city, they run on the wall. They climb into the houses, they enter at the windows like a thief.
10 The earth shall tremble before them, the heavens shall shake. Sun and moon shall be darkened, and the stars withdraw their brightness.
11 And Yahuah shall give forth His voice before His army, for His camp is very great, for mighty is the doer of His word. For the day of Yahuah is great and very awesome, and who does bear it?

Joe 2:30-32
30 “And I shall give signs in the heavens and upon the earth: blood and fire and columns of smoke,
31 the sun is turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of Yahuah.
32 “And it shall be that everyone who calls on the Name of Yahuah shall be delivered. For on Mount Tsiyon and in Yerushalayim there shall be an escape as Yahuah has said, and among the survivors whom Yahuah calls.

Mat 24:29-30
29 “And immediately after the distress of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give its light, and the stars shall fall from the heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.
30 “And then the sign of the Son of Aḏam shall appear in the heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth shall mourn, and they shall see the Son of Aḏam coming on the clouds of the heaven with power and much esteem.

As we can see that there is going to be a distress before the sun, the moon, and the stars are darkened. Then after the darkening then we will see the sign of the Son of Adam appearing in the heavens.

Mar 13:23-27

23 “And you, take heed. See, I have forewarned you of it all.
24 “But in those days, after that distress, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give its light,
25 and the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers in the heavens shall be shaken.
26 “And then they shall see the Son of Aḏam coming in the clouds with much power and esteem.
27 “And then He shall send His messengers, and assemble His chosen ones from the four winds, from the farthest part of earth to the farthest part of heaven.

Act 2:20-21
20 ‘The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and splendid day of Yahuah.
21 ‘And it shall be that everyone who calls on the Name of Yahuah shall be saved.’

We know that the day of Yahuah is darkness and not light. But is the day of darkness the same day as Yahusha’s return? Notice what it says in Acts 2:20 – the sun shall be darkened, the moon into blood BEFORE the coming of the great and splendid day of Yahuah. As Mark 13:25 and 26 also explain, the sun shall be darkened, the moon shall not give its light, the powers of the heavens shall be shaken and THEN we shall see the Son of Adam coming in the clouds. Which will take place after we see the sign of the Son of Adam as Matt 24:30 also explains. The sign will be seen the tribes of the earth shall mourn and they shall see the Son of Adam coming on the clouds of heaven. Yahusha said no man knows the day nor the hour but He did not say we would not know when the destruction would take place, the day of darkness. So is it possible to get an idea of when this day of darkness will take place?

Hos 9:5-7
5 What do you do for the appointed meeting, and in the day of the festival of Yahuah?
6 For look, they shall go because of destruction – Mitsrayim gathers them up, Moph buries them, nettles possess their valuables of silver, thorns are in their tents.
7 The days of punishment have come, the days of retribution have come. Yisra’ĕl knows! The prophet is a fool, the ‘man of the Spirit’ is mad, because of the greatness of your crookedness, and great is the enmity.

In Hoshea there is a question asked, “What do you do for the appointed meeting and in the day of the festival of Yahuah?” Many people disagree but the appointed meeting is on the 14th day of the first month, it was first recognized from the evening in which they killed the Passover lamb and the death messenger passed through on that night, that was the set-apart gathering with specific instructions as we will see.

Isa 26:20-21
20 Go, my people, enter your rooms, and shut your doors behind you; hide yourself, as it were, for a little while, until the displeasure is past.
21 For look, Yahuah is coming out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their crookedness. And the earth shall disclose her blood, and no longer cover her slain.

This is what we are admonished to do; which is specifically speaking about Yahuah coming out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their crookedness, but as we have discovered already that Yahusha does not have to appear on that same day; like the impalement account. He was impaled on the 14th, spent the 15th in the ground, and was raised on the 16th where He made His appearance again. The Scripture specifically says – “Go, enter your rooms, shut your doors behind you; hide yourself for a little while” there is an actual mo’ed/appointed time where we are commanded to do this very same thing.

Exo 12:18-24
18 ‘In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, in the evening, you shall eat unleavened bread until the twenty-first day of the month in the evening.
19 ‘For seven days no leaven is to be found in your houses, for if anyone eats what is leavened, that same being shall be cut off from the congregation of Yisra’ĕl, whether sojourner or native of the land.
20 ‘Do not eat that which is leavened – in all your dwellings you are to eat unleavened bread.’ ”
21 And Mosheh called for all the elders of Yisra’ĕl and said to them, “Go out and take lambs for yourselves according to your clans, and slaughter the Passover lamb.
22 “And you shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin, and you, none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning.
23 “And Yahuah shall pass on to smite the Mitsrites, and shall see the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, and Yahuah shall pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to smite you.
24 “And you shall guard this word as a law for you and your sons, forever.

Deu 16:7 “And you shall roast and eat it in the place which Yahuah your Elohim chooses, and in the morning you shall turn and go to your tents.

Exodus 12:24 – “You shall guard this word as a law for you and your sons, forever.”

Most of us by now recognize that Pharaoh is a spiritual analogy of hasatan, Ezeki’el 31:1-18. The physical pharaoh was to be taken as a spiritual analogy. So the land of Mitsrayim is also likened to the whole world. At the exodus on Passover Yahuah passed through the land and a great destruction came upon pharaoh from Yahuah and the inhabitants of the land suffered all the plagues and the death of their first born. I believe it is fairly comprehendible that we can see a great possibility that there will be another exodus that is ushered in by a Passover event in which Yahuah will pass over His children when He sees the blood on the door posts of their hearts and He will go on to destroy the rest. Again, Passover is the only mo’ed that contains the direct command to stay in all night.

What do you do on Passover eve/night? We had been taught in a local assembly to show up for the “Seder” and sermon, foot washing emblems, unleavened bread, and lamb and then return home. Not anymore - the command is very clear Ex. 12:22b “you, none of you shall go out of the door of his house until morning. “

One more quick thought – why is it no man knows the day nor the hour of His return? It’s very simple – the harvest is not based on any particular date, the harvest will take place and the first fruits offering will be according to Yahuah’s timing when HE determines that the first fruit crops are mature enough to harvest and to be offered. I personally would suggest that one would seriously go back and consider whether the day that no man knows is Yom Teru’ah. It is possible - but I think we can determine that the day of Yahuah’s vengeance is not the exact same day as Yahusha’s return.
