Does the Impalement Account contain two Sabbaths?

Postby Watchman555 » 12 Mar 2014, 20:39

I just wanted to point out that it is Scripturally impossible to have two Sabbaths during the impalement account. According to the Torah the first day and the seventh day of ULB are not Sabbaths. IOW, according to common understanding, they have two Sabbaths back to back or a preparation day in between during the impalement week now the 7th day you can call a Sabbath, but the first day of ULB one cannot call it a Sabbath because it is not referred to as a Sabbath.

In other words, exactly what Scripture identifies the first or the seventh day of ULB as a Sabbath? Something like this:

H7677 שַׁבָּתוֹן shabbâthôn shab-baw-thone' From H7676; a sabbatism or special holiday: - rest, sabbath.

H7676 שַׁבָּת shabbâth shab-bawth' Intensive from H7673; intermission, that is, (specifically) the Sabbath: - (+ every) sabbath.

Lev 23:3 ‘Six days work is done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath (7676) of rest (7677), a set-apart gathering. You do no work, it is a Sabbath (7676) to Yahuah in all your dwellings.

-OR-

Lev 23:23-25 And Yahuah spoke to Mosheh, saying,
24 “Speak to the children of Yisra’el, saying, ‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you have a rest (7677), a remembrance of blowing of trumpets, a set-apart gathering.
25 ‘You do no servile work, and you shall bring an offering made by fire to Yahuah.’ ”

-OR-

Lev 23:27-31 “On the tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. It shall be a set-apart gathering for you. And you shall afflict your beings, and shall bring an offering made by fire to Yahuah.
28 “And you do no work on that same day, for it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before Yahuah your Elohim.
29 “For any being who is not afflicted on that same day, he shall be cut off from his people.
30 “And any being who does any work on that same day, that being I shall destroy from the midst of his people.
31 “You do no work – a law forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
32 ‘It is a Sabbath (7676) of rest (7677) to you, and you shall afflict your beings. On the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you observe your Sabbath.”

IOW, I’m looking for the original instruction. Such as “the first day of Unleavened Bread you have a qodesh miqra, it is a Sabbath of rest to you.” And, IOOW, not by default due to the day it falls on.

7-day continual keepers claim that there are two Sabbaths during the time Yahusha was in the grave. This claim cannot be substantiated in Scripture.

John 19:31
Therefore, since it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the stake on the Sabbath – for that Sabbath was a high one – the Yehudim asked Pilate to have their legs broken, and that they be taken away.

Most people would assume because it says “for that Sabbath was a high one” that it is referring to the first day of ULB, but as we see in the Torah there is nowhere that the first day of ULB is referred to as a Sabbath. So the Sabbath that they were referring to here could only have been the 7th day Sabbath and the reason that it is called a “high one” is because it is also the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread; which can only mean that the 7th day Sabbath and the first day of the Feast of ULB took place on the same day.

If one claims that there were two Sabbaths they need to prove from the Scripture that the first day of the Feast of ULB is called a Sabbath.
