Serious questions for those that keep the 7-day continual

Postby Watchman555 » 11 Mar 2014, 19:42

I have some serious questions for those that keep the 7-day continual cycle (7-dcc).

Eze 46:1 ‘Thus said the Master Yahuah, “The gate of the inner courtyard facing east is shut the six days of work, but on the Sabbath it is opened, and on the day of the New Moon it is opened.

I hope we can all agree that Ezeki’el 46 is speaking of the temple that will be built when Yahusha returns. These are some of the specific instructions that will take place at that temple. We can see here that the gate of the inner court yard facing east is shut for the six work days but on the Sabbath and on the new moon it is opened. My first question is as of right now do you work on new moon days? Do you consider the new moon days a work day so you can complete six days of work and then rest on the 7th? With that in mind let’s keep reading:

Eze 46:2 “And the prince shall enter by way of the porch of that gate from the outside, and he shall stand by the post. And the priests shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings. And he shall bow himself at the threshold of the gate, and shall go out, but the gate is not shut until evening.
Eze 46:3 “And the people of the land shall also bow themselves at the entrance to this gate before Yahuah, on the Sabbaths and on the New Moons.

According to verse 3 the people of the land, (who are the people of the land? Those who live there? That is part of the promise that Yahuah tells us, He will bring us back to our own land- Yisra’el.) shall bow themselves at the entrance to the gate before Yahuah on the Sabbaths and on the new moons. Does this not tell us that if we are living in the land that even on the new moons we will bow ourselves at the entrance to the gate before Yahuah? I’m going to assume most of the 7-DCC are going to submit themselves to this instruction to bow themselves at the entrance on the new moons. Now we obviously know that the new moon takes place every month. Every month the new moon falls on a different day of the week according to the 7-DCC. Here we have a conundrum. And a series of questions begins to rise to the surface:

  • If indeed you go to bow down at the gate will that not interfere with your work day?
  • Would you say that you will go and bow before the gate in the morning and then go off to work?

See, I’m wondering exactly how this will work according to your understanding. But, if we read on:

Eze 46:4 “And the burnt offering which the prince brings to Yahuah on the Sabbath day is six lambs, perfect ones, and a ram, a perfect one.
Eze 46:5 “And the grain offering is one ephah for a ram, and the grain offering for the lambs, a gift of his hand, and a hin of oil for an ephah.
Eze 46:6 “And on the day of the New Moon: a young bull, a perfect one, six lambs, and a ram, they should be perfect.
Eze 46:7 “And he prepares a grain offering of an ephah for a bull, and an ephah for a ram, and for the lambs as his hand attains, and a hin of oil for an ephah.
Eze 46:8 “And when the prince enters, he comes in by way of the porch of that gate, and goes out the same way.
Eze 46:9And when the people of the land enter before Yahuah at the appointed times, whoever shall enter by way of the north gate to bow himself, goes out by way of the south gate. And whoever enters by way of the south gate, goes out by way of the north gate, he shall not return by way of the gate through which he came, but goes out through the opposite one.
Eze 46:10 “And the prince is to be in their midst, entering when they enter, and going out when they go out.

Verse 9 specifically says, “when the people of the land enter before Yahuah at the appointed times” so obviously the Sabbath is an appointed time and so is the new moon an appointed time to go and bow down before Him. Verse 9 is telling us that they not only bow down at the gate but the people of the land will also enter as did the priest, at the appointed time. So it would seem that on the Sabbath that we will all be able to go into the temple to worship before Yahuah and it would seem logical that it will also take place on the new moon. Now if we’re going in to worship Yahuah on the new moon then it does not seem quite logical that it is a work day also. I mean, come on, who’s going to go in and worship Yahuah on new moon and then turn around and go out and work? It’s an appointed time. Please, consider what you do now.

  • Do you work on a new moon?
  • During the millennium will you work on a new moon?

Now if you do not work on a new moon this would tell us one thing for certain and that is that the cycle of 7’s; six days work 7th day rest, will be broken up once a month by new moon day –unless of course the new moon falls on your 7th day Sabbath. But I hope you can get the picture, for those who claim that it is not Scriptural for those of the lunar reckoning to break up the cycle of 7’s and reset them with the new moon; because in fact, this is very similar to what you will be doing during the millennium (if your calendar stands). Every time a new moon falls on a work day it will break up your work week.

This article was written so I can gain more understanding of how those who adhere to the common understanding to the 7-day week found on the Gregorian calendar will explain how their method of calculating the weeks fits into the description of what will take place at the temple that will be built and used during the millennium when Yahusha returns. I'm not suggesting that the new moon is a Sabbath simply because the Scriptures never refer to the new moon day as a Sabbath (except the 7th month).

Basically, the conundrum lies in the description in Ezeki'el of what will take place on the new moon. It says in verse 3, the people of the land will bow themselves at the entrance to the gate before Yahuah, on the Sabbaths and on the new moons. Currently, I believe the greater percentage of those that keep the 7-day continual cycle work on new moon days, because more times than not the new moon will fall on one of the six work days.

  • When new moon falls on a work day is it considered new moon day or is it considered a work day?

Ezeki'el suggests that when the new moon takes place that the people will not only go and bow at the gate but they will also enter in. Now if the people of the land are going in to the temple it does not seem logical that it is a work day. As a matter of fact, it specifically says that the gate of the inner court yard facing east is shut the six days of work. It is open on the Sabbath and new moon. Obviously if the new moon falls on lets say the third day of the week the gates will be open, so it's not a work day, it's a new moon day. Can you see the conundrum? The gates are open on a new moon therefore it is not a work day. How does that work?

The gate would be open on New Moon and the 7th rest/Sabbath. And if a 7-day continual cycle keeper ignored the new moon and worked instead of going to the temple to bow before Yahuah it would look like this:

Here if a 7-day continual cycle keeper kept new moon and went to the temple to bow before Yahuah it could look like this:

Which way will this be calculated? The first example shows the common understanding of 6 days of work in that week; ignoring the open gate for the new moon. The second example shows 2 days of work, new moon, 3 days of work, sabbath, 6 days of work and Sabbath. That continues for 3 6 work 1 rest units then four work days, new moon, one work day and then Sabbath. The third example shows a 7-day continual keeper that appears at the temple to bow before Yahuah on new moon day, then works 6 days and keeps Sabbath, until the next new moon bowing before Yahuah again. Now it is common among those who keep the 7-day continual cycle to insist that the lunar reckoning cannot be correct because the weeks are not continual. IOW, we fail to consistently work six days and rest the seventh as they do. But as we can clearly see using these Scriptures that those who adhere to the 7-day continual cycle will also have one week every single month where the new moon will break up the continually repeating cycle of sevens. Every month – unless the new moon happens to fall on the 7th day, which will be a rare occasion.

According to Nehemnia Gordon this past Gregorian 3rd month did in fact have a new moon fall on the Gregorian 7th day. How is that??

I also posed these questions –

  • do you work on new moon days so you can have your six working days?
  • Or do you take the new moon off which breaks up your work week?

How is it they would claim that the lunar reckoning is false because it breaks up the cycle of 7's with the new moon yet we can see this is exactly what will take place with their method of calculation, if it stands in the millennium.

Of course the lunar reckoning looks something like this:

To recap the questions:

  • If indeed you go to bow down at the gate will that not interfere with your work day?
  • Would you say that you will go and bow before the gate in the morning and then go off to work?
  • Do you work on a new moon?
  • During the millennium will you work on a new moon?
  • When new moon falls on a work day is it considered new moon day or is it considered a work day?
  • Do you work on new moon days so you can have your six working days?
  • Or do you take the new moon off which breaks up your work week?
