"pentecost" - literal meaning count fifty... Now, I hadn't expected this to turn into a discussion of that. So... this is what you and the rabbi are talking about: Lev 23:15 And ye shall count5608 unto you from the morrow4480, 4283 after the sabbath,7676 from the day4480, 3117 that ye brou...

Greetings. For those who haven't read this before, here's my understanding of the functions of the "heavenly luminaries" in Gen.1:14-16. There are 3 luminaries: sun, moon, stars. There are 4 functions: signs, moedim, days, years. Of course, the earth is involved with all the functions, si...

Well, As I understand it, Brother Arnold was arguing that the late roman republic changed form a 10 day cycle to the seven day cycle. That was in his post trying to say that Saturday worshipers all worship Saturn, right? So, you can't have it both ways. It's obvious the seven day cycle was adopted b...

Philo (c. 20 BCE to c. 50 A.D)

From: THE WORKS OF PHILO Complete and Unabridged Translated by C. D. Yonge (I will provide the .DOC for anyone who likes) Philo, usually known as Philo the Jew (Philo Judaeus) or Philo of Alexandria (a city in Egypt with a large Jewish Diaspora population in Greco-Roman times), lived from about 20 B...

Um - wow. And here I thought I was clear, BrotherArnold.

The translation is correct, but you misunderstand it.

Literally, it is:
Seven Days eating unleavened and day seventh feast to Yehvah

My question to you would be, to whom does the prophecy in Zeph. 1:5 refer to? Who among us today calls upon the name of YHWH and yet swears an oath to Molech (who is actually Satyr or Saturn)? This is obviously an end time event. The time setting is found in verse 14 and verses leading up to that p...

Again, you blather about scripture, Eriq, and seem to indicate you have one in mind, but disdain to tell us. I'm not here as a pupil. I'm not here taking a test. If you care about what people understand, you would elucidate. Instead I get the feeling you are looking at us "oh, they are so blind...

BrotherArnold wrote: It says that He would rise the THIRD DAY ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURE. The only Scripture that speaks of a third day is where the lambs were killed on the 14th and the 15th was unleavened bread and the 16th the first fruits were lifted up to be accepted of the Father. Um, no. The...

You are confusing coincidence with causation.

Saturn's Day happened to fall on the seventh day of the week, the sabbath, after the Romans changed to a seven day cycle.

It is only a coincidence that the Sabbath is on Saturday.
